    Hi Alyce,

I have bounced around on your site a bit and see a lot of wineries in the area of Ellijay, GA. I am guessing there is a bit warmer climate in that area than from where I am. Do the vines do well in that area? I am going to get down there soon and try the wines to see the difference in flavors.

It is not something you typically hear when discussing popular wines. It is usually Pennsylvania, Napa Valley, and Italy and such.

Would like to venture down to Chateau Meichtry sometime!

    Thanks for sharing!

Hello Groomy Dude! North Georgia has been building up their wine industry for the past 20 years or so and there are currently a lot of great, award-winning wines produced in the area. There are 2 different AVAs in North Georgia (Upper Hiwassee Highlands AVA and the Dahlonega Plateau AVA) that have distinct characteristics, plus lots of other great non-AVA options like Chateau Miechtry and many others!

Hi there! Interesting read about the experience at Chateau Meichtry. It has definitely caught my interest as a place to visit in North Georgia. I would really enjoy listening to live music on the patio with a picnic and the wines they make from their grapes. The photos will be so beautiful and perfect for my social media profiles! 🙂
