First of all I’d like to say your articles are really great in the sense that they provide all the information you need in order to visit that particular spot.

Like the maze, I haven’t rode a horse before, though I have fed them and was close enough to get on. I love animals and that includes horses. This seems like a great trip not only do you get to enjoy riding these beautiful creatures but also get the amazing natural view! What a treat!

    Hi there,

Wonderful! We plan a trip to Georgia with the kids, but we didn’t know what activities to do. My kids and I love horses, so I will definitely put it on my bucket list. I just want to know if we need some riding experience to participate in one of these guided tours? Also, what clothes would you suggest wearing for a horse riding trip? Can we wear sandals or flip-flops?

I really don’t have a clue about this.

    Thanks a lot!

Hi Daniella, There are horseback riding options for all skill levels, and the best gear may depend on what kind of trail you choose to take. For example, there are some trails that go through water, and you may want to wear water shoes for those types of trips. It’s best to check for specifics from the place where you book your trip. I hope you all have a great time!

Reading this article certainly brings back good memories of my childhood when we used to have horses at the farm we went to over weekends. As an adult, I have hardly ridden again, and the last time was about ten years ago, and I remember my body being so sore the next day, so as I am older now it will probably be ten times worse.

These rides in Georgia look so tempting and the scenery so pretty, so I might just try this when in the area. I will start slow with a ride like the one at Cowgirl Stables for 35 minutes so I don’t kill myself the first time on again.

Hi Michel, It’s definitely wise to take it easy when starting out and it’s nice that there are shorter horseback riding options!

What a spectacular article!! Your excellent structure is everything. I especially loved the first half of your post. The second half was also very well written. Helpful that you found ratings to convey to the reader. You clearly explain the where, the when, the how, the what, the why, and the who without fail.

It’s like I am reading a very professional, sauve traveling brochure. Above all, I think you might be underrated and deserve more exposure for you noble (excuse the pun!) contributions.

I love these Horseback riding places and Mountains, my favorite is the family group horseback riding, this way i get to go with the whole family, myself, my husband and three children.

just a question, Do we need to know how to ride a horse, i mean, I’m done before but I’m not an expert.

I wasn’t sure this adventure is only for professional horseback riding, or anyone can join the adventure.

Hi Ana, Most of these options are accessible to adults and kids with no horseback riding experience. There are a few that are tailored to more experienced riders, so make sure to double-check the details when you book your ride!

Thank you so much for this excellently written article. Wow, what a great choice you give us here. I love all, but the Appalachian Trail Ride and the horseback riding in Sautee Nacoochee I love the most. Especially the last one. To know they have horses who are trained, work, and can be retired on the property is for me important to know.

    Best regards Monique

Hi Monique, I agree that the treatment of horses makes a huge difference in their attitude and it’s always nice to know that you are dealing with happy animals who are treated well! I hope you find the perfect horseback ride in the Ga mountains for your group!
