I appreciate that this page was really straight forward providing relevant information on each of the cabins along with pricing and what was and wasn’t allowed. My only question would be if these places are like a resort, where other people are around or if its more private and individual, or maybe it’s like a campus where there are main buildings where you plan all the events or get complimentary food, then you can drive off to your own cabin?

Hi Edmond, as you pointed out, there are many ways to vacation and lots of different lodging types. This article features a wide range of options, from private lodgings (cabin rentals) to places closer to the community (resorts and hotels). Each is a bit different, so hopefully, you find something that perfectly suits your own style! Enjoy!!

I just stumbled upon this article about romantic getaways in the Georgia mountains, and I must say, it’s got me feeling all kinds of lovey-dovey.

I have to admit, I’ve never been to the Georgia mountains myself, but I’ve always heard great things about it. It sounds like the perfect place for a romantic escape, with its picturesque views, tranquil atmosphere, and delicious food.

So, let me ask you this: have any of you lovely folks had a chance to experience a romantic getaway in the Georgia mountains? If so, what was your favorite part about it? I’m always on the lookout for romantic destinations for me and my partner, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

Now, from what I can tell from this article, there are plenty of options for a romantic getaway in the Georgia mountains. From cozy cabins to luxurious resorts, it seems like there’s something for everyone. I love the idea of snuggling up in a cabin by the fireplace with a bottle of wine, taking in the breathtaking views, and enjoying some quality time with my significant other.

In my opinion, the key to a successful romantic getaway is finding the right balance between relaxation and adventure. You want to spend some time lounging and enjoying each other’s company, but also try new things and have fun experiences together. The Georgia mountains seem like the perfect place to strike that balance, with its outdoor activities, scenic drives, and unique attractions.

All in all, I think the Georgia mountains sound like a fantastic destination for a romantic getaway. Have any of you tried it out? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Hi Bob, I’m so glad to hear that you’re interested in learning more about the romantic getaways in North Georgia! One of the great things about North Georgia vacations is that there are so many different ways to experience them!

My sweetie and I have always enjoyed renting a cabin and staying put until checkout (but we’re also fortunate enough to live close enough to explore things any time). Others like to use their lodgings as a place to sleep only and get out to explore the area as much as possible.

It’s a great place to visit (or live) — we hope to see you here soon!

My wife and I are planning a trip back East for early summer.  We had been thinking primarily of the New England area because of family.  Recently, we have read quite a bit about the beauty and friend attitude of Georgia.  This site has put some specifics to our general thoughts.  We are looking for dog friendly places to stay for a few days at a time.  You have given some great suggestions.  I am bookmarking this page.  As we make our travel plans, we will use this article as a reference.  Thanks for the timely and thorough article.

It’s hard to believe that there really are wonderful places like these that you can visit and they all look so beautiful and cosy. Just by being situated in the heart of the surrounded woods and countryside makes it even more appealing. Wish I lived nearer as I can definitely imagine myself chilling out in one of these getaways.

My anniversary is coming up and was looking for a private vacation cabin to rent for a week in North Georgia. I came upon your website with Romantic Getaways and I’m leaning towards “The Little Red Barn” sounds awesome and from other pictures, I saw its beauty. Let me share and run by my husband to get his opinion and come back to your bookmark website to book.

Your priciest are resonable. Just one question where it says cozy.friendlyb dog cabin , is that just a dog canin or it has a bed for people as well?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Claudia, all of the romantic getaways feature places for people to stay, it’s just that some of them are also open to letting guests include their dogs on the trip as well. Enjoy!

  7. Vai says:

These places look so peaceful and quite beautiful. How far are these places from the city? Are they close to groceries stores? These will be something to consider before booking any vacation of a romantic getaway.

I am not quite familiar with Georgia and that will be some I’ll considered before taking a trip down there. Also, the price tag is a little on the high side of affordability for me. However, I am going to find out more about these places and hope to visit someday.

Is there any preference as to which of these places the best? I appreciate your sharing this information and am hoping that someday I will visit.

    • Alyce says:

Hello Vai, Depending on where you want to be, there are romantic lodging options in North Georgia towns, or there are options that are more secluded in the mountains. The options near town will be the closest to the grocery stores.

It’s challenging to say which one is the “best”, as they each have unique qualities that might be more or less attractive depending on how you prefer to enjoy a romantic getaway.

  8. Champ says:

These all look like great places to spend with your special someone, The heart shaped jacuzzi is perfect for two people. Especially with Valentines Day coming, and they are all reasonably priced. In addition to being romantic, the mountains are also so peaceful and relaxing. Do they have WiFi?

    Thank you for sharing.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Champ, Most rentals will have WiFi on site, but the availability of phone service may not be available at some of the more remote cabin rentals.

  9. Jenny Hennig says:

This is such a timely post, as Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!  My husband and I are due for a romantic getaway together.  All of these places sound lovely, we are both nature lovers and we bring our dog with us everywhere we go.  So we would be looking into one of the dog-friendly accommodations.  Some great choices here!  Time to start planning.

  10. John says:

These look like amazing places to stay and the surrounding scenery really is breath-taking! I have a friend who has previously visited parts of the Chattahoochee National Forest (I think that’s the same area?) and the pictures she had taken there were stunning and to say I was jealous and wanted to go there myself is an understatement!

These cabins all look great and the prices are very good too. I also like the idea of seeing more of the area and some of the riverside restaurants you highlight on your other post definitely look worth a visit.

I would really like to visit sometime near to Christmas, do the cabins get booked up early?

    • Alyce says:

Hi John, the Chattahoochee National Forest covers and protects quite a bit of the wooded areas in North Georgia. A lot of vacation cabins sit right on the edge of the forest!

The peak season in North Georgia is Autumn, especially when the changing leaves are expected to be at their “peak” for bright colors (usually mid-October to early November). Even though Christmastime isn’t peak season, I advise booking your lodging as early as possible in order to get the best selection.

      Enjoy your trip!

  11. Ann says:

In the busy world, we live in, it’s always healthy to plan a romantic getaway with our husband. The scenery in Georgia is gorgeous. And being able to take pictures together out in the mountains and confirm the vows should be part of a healthy relationship. Thanks, for these lodging suggestions.

    • Alyce says:

Thanks Ann! There are so many romantic places in North Georgia to explore but these definitely provide some of the most unique places to stay in the GA mountains!

  12. Cynthia says:

I’ve been dying for a weekend (or longer!) getaway…and I’m sure I’m not alone after this very long Pandemic!  I don’t have a romantic partner to go with but I’m sure I could find a friend or two to go with me.  The Little Red Barn looks like a great place as I would love to watch a movie while sitting in the hot tub.  I would love the “Relax and Renew” package at the Lake Rabun Inn.  I might even stay longer so I could tack on the Hikers’ Adventure package!  These all look like good choices.  Thanks for posting!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Cynthia, I have rented cabins with friends in the past and we have had a great time taking turns with meal prep and tending the fires. There is a different view with each season, so visit anytime you’re ready! As a bonus, you can expect great deals for off-season cabins rent Georgia mountains!

  13. Misael H says:

This is awesome! Me and my girlfriend have been looking for something romantic to do in someplace romantic to visit and I must admit that I have run into the perfect article for that. I really appreciate all the information that you have provided about the cabins rent north Georgia. We were originally thinking of romantic getaways near Georgia, but I didn’t realize that we had all these great options in North Georgia too! Thank you!!

    • Alyce says:

The scenic mountain views and easy pace in the North Georgia mountains will help set a romantic mood no matter where you stay, but I think it adds to the excitement to stay at these extra romantic spots! Enjoy!!

  14. Kay says:

Since I am a widow, I would opt for the large cabin that sleeps 14 and bring my entire family (4 children with their partners and 4 grandchildren and maybe my sister and her family).  That sounds like a jolly good time.  With the game room and playground, it sounds perfect for a get-away!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Kay, The large cabin is a great choice to get the family together and make cherished memories. The rocking chairs and sweeping panoramic mountain views offer perfect spots for reading a book or watching the weather.

  15. Nuttanee says:

Thanks you for sharing about these locations! My 7th year anniversary is coming with my husband this April and it will be a perfect opportunity for us to get away. (We got the vaccines already so we are good to travel) Lucille Mountain Top Inn and Spa looks very promising and have all the amenities that both of us can enjoy. The Spring Garden is also very cute. I will check them out, thanks again!

    • Alyce says:

Congrats on your 7th anniversary and for getting vaccinated!! The Lucille Mountain Top Inn spa is a fantastic place to enjoy time with your sweetheart.

  16. Leahrae says:

I love the Little Red Barn, and the fact that it as a FAR sauna for use.  I’m single, but I can see this as a great retreat for myself.  The pricing is not bad at all.  What are the average summer temperatures here?  I am from Florida, so used to the heat 🙂

    • Alyce says:

Hi Leahrae, The summer temperatures can get very hot and humid, but the temps usually stay in the 80’s during the day and it’s pleasantly warm at night. On the hottest summer days, it’s very refreshing to float on one of the cool rivers in the area!

  17. Geoff says:

I love the idea of romantic weekend getaways in north Georgia cabin rentals.  You have given me such a great selection of places to choose from.  It is also surprising that so many of them are dog friendly.  They certainly all do look romantic.

The little red barn looks particularly delightful.

Thanks for sharing this.  Keep up the good work.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Geoff, Thanks so much! The north Georgia mountains are such a naturally beautiful place that it’s easy to understand why so many couples enjoy these romantic getaways in Georgia!

  18. Dawayne Perza says:

Oh my goodness that little red barn looks amazing! And that Lake Rabun Hotel, at 100 years old? Still looking gorgeous as ever!

I have been looking for a place to take my sweety! Maybe we should set one of these places up soon! We are over on the west coast but with flights being so cheap it might actually be quite worth it for long weekend trip! Thank you for all the amazing recommendations!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Dawayne, The North Georgia mountains are a great place for a romantic weekend vacation! Lake Rabun is a gorgeous place to spend time in a natural setting and the Lake Rabun Hotel is one of the most charming places to visit in the area.

Since you’ll be flying in from the West coast, you can consider flying into one of 3 airports: Atlanta GA (ATL), Chattanooga TN (CHA), or Greenville SC (GSP). The North Georgia mountains are only a short drive from any of these 3 options!

  19. Kevin says:

The Little Red Barn looks like an absolutely amazing romantic weekend cabin getaways. If it was snowing outside, the experience would be so delightful. Sitting in a hot jacuzzi for a few hours while looking out at the snow is something I would love to do – even more so if I have my sweetheart with me. Personally, I live in Canada so I don’t know much about US geography, I’m not sure if it actually snows in North Georgia. If it does snow in the North Georgia’s Appalachian Mountains, how much snow and are these getaways still open? Thanks for the awesome article – great ideas for romantic Georgia mountain cabins!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Kevin! The Georgia mountains are fortunate to get 4 distinct seasons of weather, and each Winter will usually bring at least a little bit of snow. The snow generally won’t last too long or cause too many issues (it’s rare when it lasts for more than a day or two), but there are indeed some places that become inaccessible in icy conditions.

You are definitely right though — it is fantastic fun to enjoy the soothing warmth of an outdoor hot tub during snow! 🙂
