Col. Poole’s Bar-B-Q is a southern roadside barbecue joint that you can’t help but notice as you drive by. It’s bright yellow and red building is prominently located along GA-515 and shares space with their unique “Pig Hill of Fame” – a hill covered with hundreds of painted wooden pigs. In addition to the Pig Hill of Fame, there are many pig puns scattered throughout the property (pig-a-boo, pig-moby-il, taj-ma-hog, etc).
The tasty “bar-b-q” (with choice of 6 sauces) and sides are served on styrofoam plates with disposable utensils. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Brace yourself for very heavy republican politics – the owner is a very active member of the republican party and the walls and tables are literally covered with GOP memoribilia.

This is so fun! I’m actually in the process of looking up weird and unusual places to visit in my own country in the hopes of doing a road trip one day. Little quirky gems like this are what make road trips have so much character. They’re places you just wouldn’t normally go on vacation.
Thanks for alerting us to this colourful road stop. Who knows? If I do a tour of the US one day (which I hope to) perhaps I’ll stop by for a snack!
Hi CJ, It’s certainly a unique place to stop for a bite to you. You won’t be able to miss it from the road with the huge “Pig Hill of Fame” and bright yellow and red paint!
This place seems good and those prices are actually impressive! Love how you mentioned that visitors need to brace themselves though lol. But hey, no problems because if I ever went I would just go for the food anyways. I like that that Col Poole’s offers outdoor seating because I imagine there’s nice surrounding scenery in those parts.
Hi Nate, It’s a solid place for BBQ, and it is nice to sit outside among the mountains when the weather is nice.
