Nestled atop an 80-acre farm on the Dahlonega Plateau AVA, Doghobble Wine Farm is one of North Georgia’s newest additions to the wine scene.

The winery began welcoming guests in 2024 with outdoor spaces and a covered outdoor pavilion. An indoor tasting room and event space will open in early 2025.

For those curious about the story behind the name Doghobble Wine Farm—it’s rooted in nature! 🌿 The property is home to abundant growth of the mountain doghobble plant, known for its dense, twisting growth—so thick that it can hobble passing dogs. Inspired by its strength and presence, the vineyard took on its name.

 

The Doghobble Wine Farm Experience

Doghobble Wine Farm invites you to sip wines while enjoying the natural and wooded “Doghobble plateau,” where you can relax among the vines or cozy up to an outdoor fireplace. Doghobble is an entirely outdoor facility. All seating is outdoors, and some is uncovered. Please dress for the weather!

Vineyard photos are encouraged, but guests are asked not to touch or handle the grape vines. Guests should be aware of hazards that may exist seasonally in the vineyard.

Doghobble Wine Farm is a working farm with free-range friendly animals on site, including sheep, chickens, donkeys, and alpacas. As you stroll through the vineyards, don’t be surprised to encounter these charming residents.

Pets are not allowed at Doghobble Wine Farm for the safety of the farm animals and guests.

Guests must be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcohol. The vineyard experience is principally designed for adults. Children are welcome to visit but are not encouraged.

Some highlights include Carlos (dry & citrusy muscadine), Chardonnay (light &creamy), Norton (smooth with plum notes), and Rosé (crisp light strawberry and watermelon).
