I often travel between the Chattanooga and Asheville areas, so I’m always interested in learning of new spots to dine in and around that region. I really appreciated finding this article as you’ve provided so many new spots I can try. Wolf Mountain Vineyards looks amazing…I’m definitely putting it and several others on my list! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Alyce, wow this is a beautiful article on places to eat in Georgia! I’m from Canada, and I’ve been trying to explore the US more. I haven’t made it to Georgia yet, but this article makes me want to go there just for the beautiful restaurants and vineyards! I particularly like the look of the White Oaks Bistro with its beautiful scenery all around you. Do you have any personal favorites?

Hi Beth, I have really enjoyed every meal I’ve had at these restaurants, but I simply adore the sweeping views of the mountains from the Wolf Mountain Vineyards dining room. Enjoy!

Hi and thanks for sharing this excellent reference. My first trip to the US was to a convention in Atlanta. I was there with a colleague from work and we added a day and we made a trip to Stone Mountain. I think we climbed up and then took the cable car down. During the week I was there, we usually ate in the evenings in downtown Atlanta. I remember the buzz of the area and many restaurants had outside seating and live music. It was really exciting for me, especially as at the time I was living in a rather boring suburb of Zurich in Switzerland. I can see that downtown Atlanta and Stone Mountain are a long way from the fine dining restaurants you are recommending. Now I live in the US, so when we are down there we will know where to go. Best regards, Andy

Hi Andy, Thanks for sharing. Atlanta and Stone Mountain are about 1 – 2 hours from the North Georgia restaurants on the list. Many of them would make for a great day trip from the city!

There are certainly great restaurants in north Georgia as my friend lives there and talks about them often. The restaurants you listed are pretty good. My friend told me that the best restaurants in north Georgia are Benihana and Zaxby’s. They’re a little pricey, but they have great menu items that will give you the service you desire!

This is really gonna help someone looking for restaurants in north georgia!

Hey Nabeel, I’m not sure where your friend lives, but the closest Benihana to North Georgia is in the Northern Atlanta suburbs (at least an hour drive from the mountains). There are plenty of Zaxby’s “fast food” restaurants around, but they would not provide table service or take any reservations.

Hope this helps you to find a great North Georgia restaurant!

I never visited him nor did I remember where he lives. But son after this pandemic is over, I would travel to Georgia and use your recommendation on this page as assistance.

I’m from the UK and have always wanted to go to Georgia and hopefully one day soon I will! These seem like very nice restaurants to visit and I definitely prefer to have a dinner reservation at a great restaurant instead of having to put my name on a list and wait. Thank you for the helpful map too – not exactly sure where I’ll stay overnight but it’s nice to see at a quick glance which places offer reservations!

    • Alyce says:

It’s definitely helpful to have a reservation and save yourself the time you might have to wait for a table! Enjoy!!

Mamma mia! I love Italian food. And so do all my relatives. So it would be nice to take them to Cucina Rustica restaurant with a country style during our Blue Ridge visit. There is always family that visits us from the old continent and they long for their lasagna while they are here. So, this is an excellent option to take them – will report back!
