Thank you for your review of these awesome destinations! Why stay at a regular rental property when you can stay at a rental property…..with a boat! These locations seem like the perfect place to cool down on the next Summer vacation. Why drive all the way to the lake when you can wake up, walk down to the path and your already there! There are so many lakes in the area to choose from, and I really appreciated your useful tips, just need to print it out and I have the perfect Summer checklist.

Hi Randi, I couldn’t agree more! I love being able to wake up and enjoy my coffee with stunning views and access to a lake!!

Wow! Those properties really are something else – with such beautiful locations you couldn’t help but relax and unwind.

I don’t think that a boat rental would really be “optional” for me, more like a “must have”!!

I read in one of the other comments about how the Fall was a great time to visit as the trees will be changing colours then, that must make for some stunning photographs.

I was wondering though, are the restaurants in the area within walking distance from the properties or would I need a vehicle to get around?

    Thanks

    John

Hi there Alyce. Thanks for the comprehensive list of rental properties with boats. I am planning to visit lake Nottely next month with a group of friends and we were thinking of getting a boat to spice up our experience there. It is our first time having a boat ride so we wanted it to be a thing to remember. We are going to go through the options you have provided here and see which is our best fit. Hopefully, I will come and share my experience here soon.  🙂

Hi Dave, Lake Nottely has some excellent waterfront rental properties with boats; however, please keep in mind that Lake Nottely does a major water drawdown each year. Boats may not be available in all areas of the lake due to the annual winter water drawdown.

To take full advantage of the properties with boats, consider planning your trip for sometime between May and mid-September.

      Enjoy!

Greetings! I went through all the information on lakefront mountain rentals and I found it very interesting that so many places will include a boat with the house rental. A boat to use as I wish certainly makes an enjoyable vacation. I really appreciate finding this surprising information. I will definitely be sharing it and hopefully booking something soon!

    • Alyce says:

Hello Kokontala, including an optional boat with a cabin rental is a great way to make a lakefront rental cabin stand out from the crowd! I think it’s great that these cabin rental owners are so innovative with the amenities they offer for their guests. I hope you enjoy your vacation and time on the lake!

Yes, please! It definitely comes to the point that when having a vacation in such an incredible place in nature, you have to have a boat with you as well. Thanks for giving me a choice here. I have found some rentals you talked about and put them into consideration. However, they have no boat included. These lakefront mountain rental properties that include boats are now the win-win choice I would say. North Georgia, here we come!!!

    Thanks!

I love how these lakefront rental homes make it so easy to get everything you want in one place! I hope you have a wonderful visit and find North Georgia to be one of your new favorite places! 🙂

Awesome post, Alyce! All of these properties look amazing. As a realtor, I’m always looking for ways to use a property other than directly living in them. After reading this post, I realized that renting out lakefront homes and boats is an amazing way to make use of waterfront properties without residing in them. I’ll make sure to come down to Georgia sometime and rent some of these properties out. Which property here is your favorite?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Kevin, I’m so happy these great houses are taking full advantage of their waterfront locations during the summer months! My favorite would likely be on Lake Rabun, but I’d gladly spend the day at any of these beautiful locations!

    Hi there,

Thanks for sharing this useful article!

We are used to traveling to Italy every year, but now we want to go to a different destination to discover other horizons.

The Georgia Mountains look beautiful, and this is a place that I will put on my top priority list. I love boating, so I am sure I will have lots of fun there:) Just a question, please. My husband loves fishing when he is on vacation, so I wonder we can find fishing charters in the Lakefront? If there are, for sure we are coming:). Oh, I almost forgot, when would be the best time of the year to visit the area?

    Thanks a lot!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Daniella, The most popular time to visit is during the Fall when the leaves change colors and put on a natural display!

The best time to take advantage of the lake homes above is the summer when the lake water level is at its fullest. There are lots of different outfitters who can help with fishing on the local lakes, rivers, and streams!

Wow, this would be bliss for me.  Not sure it’s really in my price range but I would love to do something like this.  I used to go canoeing a few years back not the same but know how peaceful it is in these kinds of places.  I’ve never been to Georgia before but looks so nice in the pictures.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Alex, There are a lot of beautiful places to enjoy a canoe ride in the area. These lakefront homes include some of the fancier homes in the mountains, but there are a lot of more affordable rentals in North Georgia as well. I hope you can make it for a visit and experience the natural beauty of the GA mountains!

I never realised there were so many lakes in the Georgia mountains area and they all look beautiful. Many of these properties seem to be very reasonably priced, for what looks like superb accommodation.

It is great that one has the option of also renting a boat while you are staying at the property. A pontoon boat seems quite big, so does one need a skippers licence to navigate it? How many people do you need on board to moor the boat? It looks as if you need at least one at the front and one at the back, but maybe I am wrong?

    • Alyce says:

Hello, Driving a boat does take some practice, so it is helpful if you have someone with boating experience to drive the boat. The required number of people to dock the boat would depend on the experience level of the captain.
