So people actually rent tree houses, I thought that you can make your own tree house. Anyways what would be the purpose of renting a tree house and how much would it cost me to rent a tree house? I could maybe rent one for my nephew seeing that he likes the outdoor life

    • Alyce says:

Hi Aubin, Not everyone has a yard with a tree that is suitable for building a treehouse. These rustic treehouse rentals in North Georgia offer anyone who wants to rent them an opportunity to enjoy an overnight treehouse experience. Enjoy!

  2. DashDNations says:

I love this so much. All these great places to stay and unique experiences for travelers. I’m not a fan of hotels but I travel all the time and am always looking for great places to stay that will give me something new and different from all the other places. Tree houses are right up my alley, I’m glad I found this.

    • Alyce says:

Hello, these rustic treehouses are great for a chance to sleep in the woods a little closer to nature, but most of these rustic treehouses do not include a lot of the comforts you find in a traditional hotel. For the times when you want both a treehouse without sacrificing any personal comfort, check out the variety of Luxury Treehouses in North Georgia

  3. Gabriel J says:

Hey there! This is a great post for outdoor enthusiasts out there. You’ve listed a lot of attractive recommendations for those looking for a weekend getaway in the woods. I remember climbing up makeshift treehouses when I was younger but I never stayed in any treehouse as luxurious as the ones you recommend. Are these treehouses just in the states or worldwide?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Gabriel, This collection of rustic treehouses is in North Georgia where you’ll have a great opportunity to feel more connected with the woods and nature during your visit.

  4. Deborah says:

I love learning about new places to stay in Georgia. Once this pandemic is over with I will certainly be making a trip. These treehouses sound so adventurous. My husband and I have always loved camping but are no longer wishing to pitch a tent and sleep on the ground. This sounds like the perfect solution. We would get that camping vibe but get to sleep in comfort. What time of year do you recommend to a couple of Canadian neighbors?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Deborah, I personally think the Fall is the most beautiful time of year to visit. Each of these treehouses has limited modern amenities, so I would probably stick to visiting during times of milder weather instead of visiting during days that may be too hot or too cool.

  5. Leahrae says:

This would be so awesome and the prices are really very reasonable.  I don’t need fancy and this would be like camping with a few extras!  I am close to Georgia and have family there.  This will make a great time for us when we visit.  I personally like the Riverbright Tree House.   Can you fish from the river and do you need a permit?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Leahrae, I love the Toccoa River location at the Riverbright Treehouse! You may fish from the Toccoa River, but you will need to get a fishing license. Enjoy the treehouse!

  6. Sunny says:

I simply enjoy your posts and surfing your website. Georgia mountains have been my desired destination since I started reading your posts 🙂 You did a great job making an incredible salesperson. The rustic treehouse rentals are so adorable. I can only imagine the feeling of spending several days in this kind of heaven. The scenery view from each of them as you showed in the photos is incredible! Can’t wait for the world to open up again.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Sunny, Thanks so much! Let’s hope the vaccine rollouts will speed our return to traveling freely soon!!

  7. Skuchmane says:

hellooo dear, thanks so much for sharing with us a great article about these unique places to stay in the Georgia mountains. Something about the deep woods and remote spaces seems like a great escape for the modern hustle. Nice to have these options to connect with nature in North Georgia USA.

    • Alyce says:

These remote spaces will definitely provide a break from the fast pace of modern life. I hope you find the perfect option to explore on your next adventure to the North Georgia mountains!

  8. Sami says:

This is a most interesting way to get to see and learn about your great state of Georgia.  I read the review you did of the drive-in movie theatre really great information.

Being a non-native Georgia resident, I had no idea of the tree-house rental possibilities.  The whole concept looks really fun, and entertaining.  I am sure the views must be unbelievable. This should take you to a part of Georgia that restful and offers some time out of the hustle and bustle of crowds of people.  That is what is needed in a time of social distancing.  As the population of our world grows, having access to a place that feels more remote and private holds a great deal of appeal.  The quiet and natural provide a refreshing way to spend some time if you are fortunate enough to get to rent one of these lovely tree houses.

Thanks for the article, fun and entertaining as well as informative.  Thanks.

  9. Michael says:

Wow these look amazing. I was looking at something like this earlier, but unfortunately all of them were booked so I didn’t get to go.

Also I live in Georgia so it’s nice to know that these places are very close to where I live.

Have you ever stayed in one of these treehouse rentals before, and if so what did you think of it?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Michael, I have not stayed in any of these rustic treehouses. Knowing myself, the weather would have to be in a perfect “goldilocks” zone for me to willingly stay in a space without heat or A/C. For me, this would be late Summer and early Fall. The luxe treehouses are just my style though… 😉

  10. Philebur says:

Hello there, thanks for sharing this wonderful content here with us. I really do find your review very informative, GA is an amazing place to be, i have been there once so i can testify to that, these beautiful tree houses are really gorgeous, i think i will be visiting one of these place when next i come over to GA, thanks for sharing.

    • Alyce says:

Please reach out if you have any questions as you plan your trip to the Georgia mountains! Enjoy!!

  11. Iheanacho David says:

WOW! What a nice review you have here on tree houses. I never knew so much comfort and pleasure could be derived from these tree houses. The prices are affordable too depending on the one you are intrested in.I think my best so far is Abbie’s waterfall tree house i really like the view of the environment and price looks nice too. thank you for this.

    • Alyce says:

These are bare bones treehouses with no running water or modern amenities, but if that sounds like a perfect getaway, then these are definitely great deals!!

  12. Hilde says:

Renting a Treehouse is a great way to spend your holiday outdoors. Abbies Waterfall Treehouse  and the riverbright treehouse looks like an amazing place to spend a holiday. Do you know if you have to walk far to get to these treehouses?  I see that the Abbies waterfall has parking on premises so I guess it is not so far to walk. Do you get a map over the area or is that something you have to consider buying when renting?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Hilde, The hosts of these treehouses can provide varying levels of service, including whether or not they provide maps, meals, or other amenities. Check the details of each listing to learn about what each treehouse stay will include.

The Creek Treehouse & Secluded Treehouse are located a half mile from the parking lot (rental carts available if needed). The other treehouses have closer parking available.

    Hello

    Very interesting your article

I’m a fan of mountain and nature getaways.
Next year I’m planning a trip to Seattle and will be at least a month away, so your article will be of great use to me.

I did a map tour of your article, I was impressed with the trees and the harmonies of nature

The shelters you mentioned are impressive and very good value.

I will definitely adapt to nature by far, I mean TV, mobile, WiFI and more.

I believe 7 days would be the absolute peace of mind.

Many thanks for your great article.

    Keep up the pace.

  14. Colleen says:

Thank you for sharing this fabulous information! All of these Treehouse rentals seem to be priced very reasonably. The one that caught my eye is Abbie’s Waterfall Treehouse. I appreciate the fact that it is heated and comes with linens and such. My question to you would be, when is the best time to experience the Georgia Mountains? Would Spring be a better season or Fall? Seeing that the treehouse is heated, are these rentals available in Winter? I am trying to figure out a time when it is not humid and sticky. Thank you!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Colleen, The peak season in the Georgia mountains is in the fall when the leaves are at their peak colors (generally around mid October to mid-November). The weather can have a random hot or cold snap during this time of year, but it’s usually mild and quite nice.

Plan to book your treehouse lodging in advance, as treehouses, hotels, and lodges can usually sell out / be fully occupied during the peak Fall season.

  15. Abel says:

I appreciate you have given us a complete array of options for all budgets. We’re planing a family trip, and our budget can afford the middle options. We’re deciding between Abbie’s Waterfall Treehouse and Double Spring Treehouse.

We’re just planning the trip, but we’re all excited already. Thanks for this helpful post.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Abel, I’m glad to have helped you find some great vacation options for your family. Hopefully you all find the perfect mountain treehouse for your stay in North Georgia!

  16. Ann says:

My family and I love to be in contact with nature. And visiting the Georgia mountains will be an experience that we will all enjoy and treasure. I also love to take pictures, so I’ll be prepared with my camera.

From these options you presented here, we’ve made up our mind for Riverbright Treehouse. Affordable and nice! Thank you for all the details you mentioned!

    • Alyce says:

That is so wonderful Ann! I hope you and your family have a wonderful time at the Riverbright treehouse in the Georgia mountains!

  17. PeterMinea says:

    Hello again Alyce!

Very beautiful houses in the middle of the nature. We may even consider them as “houses of our dreams”, and in my opinion they would serve very well as holiday houses for people that are under stress and need a serious disconnection from the daily life. Fresh air, pretty much silence, no electronics in most cases… sometimes not even pets at all.

Unfortunately this escape in nature comes with some serious prices per night for the top treehouses.  But people who afford one or more holiday weeks for living in these fascinating treehouses should profit from the available offers and recharge their “life batteries”.

    Best regards,

    Peter

    • Alyce says:

These rustic treehouses are definitely a great way to connect with nature and enjoy the sounds, sights, and smells of a wooded forest all around!

  18. Jose G. says:

These are our very beautiful treehouses you have on display. Abbie’s Waterfall Treehouse is personally my favorite, looks quite fancy and lovely, plus a great view of a waterfall to top it off. Unfortunately, I don’t live in Georgia, hehe… Which would you recommend Alyce if someone would come and stay a couple of nights with a small family of 3?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Jose, most of these listings for “rustic” treehouses are going to be on the small side and are probably best for 2 people at most. The Cosy Treehouse or Serenitree House would probably have the most room for 3 people.

The post about Luxury Treehouses in the Georgia Mountains has some bigger options that would be more comfortable for more than 2 people.

  19. Paul says:

    Dear Alyce,

Thanks a lot for the insightful and informative article.

Being a traveler staying in a treehouse is a dream for several years but yet to turn into a reality. Being with mother nature gives a lot of peace & satisfaction and for sure these woods will wash all our sorrows.

The images you shared are very helpful and a treat to my eyes. I got great insights from your article.

Cost and contact details with a description of each Treehouse is super helpful in my decision making. Abbie’s Waterfall Treehouse is the one I am interested in. I do love hiking and enjoy staying nearby waterfalls so this will be the perfect treehouse for me. The price is also under my budget.

I am bookmarking your article for future reference.

    Much Success!

    Paul

  20. RoDarrick says:

Fabulous article you have up here and I found it an interesting read. Right from when I was a kid, I have always wanted to live in a treehouse but ive never been successful with that desire and I’m glad I finally came across it again. This time around, I will fulfill the urge. I like the various suggestions of the tree houses and if I were to lodge in any, considering the price and the tranquil serenity, I will go for the Abbie’s waterfall treehouse. Thanks for this

    • Alyce says:

Abbie’s Waterfall Treehouse is a beautiful choice as the windows all around provide 360 degree views of the woods all around!

  21. Henderson says:

Hello thank you for posting this. My girlfriend has been whining about having the experience of camping in a tree house this summer and I think you have given me a wide range of ideas to choose from. I think it’s really nice to just stay up there away from the ground and have a really nice view. I personally like the Abbie’s waterfall tree house. It’s 360 view looks perfect and everyt

  22. MissusB says:

Treehouse provide a certain feeling – the one buried in your childhood with all the make believe adventures and uncorrupted silliness. It reminds you of childhood and innocence that you would want your kid to experience as well. To be in it makes you feel closer to nature and appreciate the beauty of it.

Among the tree houses you suggested, Double Spring treehouse seemed to offer more at a lesser price. It has minimal convenience of technology that we need even if we’re away for vacation. Even your pet can be allowed to experience the stay. This is a very good choice to get away from the city hustle. It may be a bit challenging but especially with bathroom needs but it’s okay, I mean it’s part of the adventure, right? A little walk to get there is not a bad idea. Thanks for all these suggestions. It’s really tempting to rent one of these!

    • Alyce says:

I definitely enjoy that feeling of being transported back to childhood when adventure and silliness ruled the day. It’s a great part of the appeal of these rustic treehouses!

  23. King konz says:

What an experience this gatta be! I’m a person who love nature and love to travel, and this seems like a must-do in the area. Great idea as you get the experience of living in the wild, while still safe and have a shelter like you said, not having to sleep on the floor. At the same time taking away the everyday things we gotten so use to over the years in this new century. This looks like a perfect bond with nature whether going solo, with your kid or a lover I guess. You have it all here looks like, eats drinks, atmosphere, I see it said host weddings and all. I imagine there is a good amount of visitors and business!

    • Alyce says:

Being able to submerse yourself in the woods in the comfort of a treehouse is such a great way to enjoy the fresh air and serenity of nature. I absolutely love the variety of options!

  24. Ewo Lam says:

Hi. AlyceG. This looks great but I have questions about the cost of living in those treehouses. Since I never have experience of treehouses, I can’t get what the community fees about. Is it about service tips?

I found out some houses doesn’t have community fees listed. For example, only service fee is listed for Kaluna’s Treehouse Sanctuary. Is that mean we don’t have to pay community fees for some houses? Is the service fee of Kaluna’s Treehouse Sanctuary including cleaning fee too?

In addition, listing the tax rate of Georgia state is a good idea for outsiders too. I think the fees are before tax, right? I just curious about the typical budget for one night staying in those houses.

    • Alyce says:

      Hi Ewo,

Thanks for the response! Treehouses are unique and not owned by large hospitaility groups, so each will provide a different experience with different fee structures.

Community fees for those properties state that they are going towards paying taxes… so hopefully this would mean that no additional taxes are required for that property. It would be best to ask at time of booking to get the most current information for your specific visit. Tax rates depend on the county, but you should expect around 12% for lodging in the Georgia mountains

Tips are not included in the prices, but you are required to pay a set cleaning fee at the end of your stay. There isn’t a housekeeping staff that will be providing daily service for these rustic treehouses.

Also, to be clear, many of these treehouses (and rentals from a private owner) will require at least a 2 night minimum stay per current Georgia law. This can vary depending on season.

Thanks for checking out the treehouse information – I hope you’re able to find one that suits your needs for a unique stay experience!

      Regards, Alyce

  25. Lanta Eco News says:

Wow, these treehouses look amazing. The all look like such fantastic places to relax, unwind, and spend time in nature. It’s hard to choose between them – they all look so perfect. Are they available to rent all year round? And do the prices stay the same all year? We have some great treehouses in Thailand too. You can’t beat staying in a treehouse. It’s a really special place to stay.

    • Alyce says:

Hello! These are available year-round, although they will be the most comfortable when the weather is mild. The prices do depend on the season. The best season to go is during Fall, when the temperates are mild and the fall colors on the deciduous trees are at their peak.

      Regards, Alyce
