The rentals are beautiful! Is the lake good for fishing? Also, are there any hiking trails nearby or other outdoor activities? I have never been to Georgia but it looks like a place I may have to visit.

I love renting a cabin or house vs staying at a hotel and these look great. The price is very reasonable for such nice places.

Hi Kim, Lake Rabun and the surrounding area is a dream setting for outdoor enthusiasts! There is great fishing as well as world-renowned hiking trails (Appalachian Trail) plus places to raft, float, and canoe.

I love to travel!  I have relatives who just moved to that area of Georgia and they love it.  I was looking into different options to go visit the area and that is how I found your site.  These are some great deals on vacation spots.  Where I am at right now is cold 8 to 9 months of the year and it is miserable.  I think spending time in Georgia in some of those months of cold weather is just what the doctor ordered.  Thanks again for the info!

    • Alyce says:

Hello Arizona! It can also get cold in North Georgia, but fortunately, the Winter season doesn’t overstay its welcome. Summer is a great time to enjoy all of the lake activities on Lake Rabun.

What a wonderful and peaceful place! It reminds me of Delta River in Argentina. Would love to be able to visit Lake Rabun! thanks in advance for having put the prices for each rental, as there is a big difference between them. As a family father, we are really into nature for our kids, as we believe it is the key for them to understand the importance of these kind of places. Would love to spend a whole week there and do some canooing.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Johnny, Lake Rabun is a great place for families to enjoy a vacation together. The lake is naturally beautiful with abundant trees and charming homes.

I am really impressed with the layout of this whole website, it’s so easy to navigate and professional looking. this article is also great. I live in the UK and we just don’t have this sort of thing here, I can’t quite get my head around the amount of bathrooms in these places. Why is there so many?

    • Alyce says:

Hi Jess, I’m not 100% sure why American homes have trended towards so many bathrooms, other than it really is convenient and makes for a more pleasant stay.

I used to have a group of friends who would pile in to a family lakehouse for holiday weekends and have so much fun. The house had beds for 18 and sofa bed space for even more. We could fill up all of the sleeping space on a good trip! However, there were only 2 bathrooms in the house (one of which was the private master bathroom), so the line for showers and toilet breaks could be challenging. Great vacation memories – the only thing I’d change is to add more bathrooms to the home!

The Georgia mountains are one of the best places to go locally to get away from the fast pace of city life. This rustic vacation home has a very antique look to it that encourages you to sit on a rocking chair and play a banjo horribly wrong.

Being on the waterfront you can take the family swimming like old times or go boating or fishing. This is where quite fun makes the vacation more relaxing. This location takes me way back to my youth and I am so glad you chose to write about it.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Alex, Lake Rabun is a beautiful tree-lined lake that makes a great location for a relaxing North Ga vacation.

  6. Jannette says:

As many times that I have visited north Georgia, this first time hearing about lake Rabun, now going need to visit this lake. I’m loving the high-end vacation home rental with the swimming area and boat dock. The kids can enjoy swimming while adults watch them play close by enjoying the beauty of the lake.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Jannette, Lake Rabun is a relatively small place which makes it a relaxing destination for family vacations. I hope your family is able to find the perfect Lake Rabun rental for your trip!

  7. Ann says:

I am a photographer. And my first commission work was to take pictures of Lake Rabun. It is a twisty 835-acre reservoir with 25 miles of shoreline. So, the pictures turned out good and I was immediately taken to the next level. I would like to now go back on vacations to just enjoy the scenery!

    • Alyce says:

To me, Lake Rabun is about as close to summer and autumn perfection that a place can be — and it’s definitely a photogenic beauty to visit as well. I hope you are able to return trip to Lake Rabun someday soon!
